SHANGHAI — In a major move for the embodied AI and robotics sectors, Lingyi Xinchuang (Shanghai) Technology Co., Ltd. (灵熠新创) was officially established on September 7, 2026. Registered in the Minhang District of Shanghai with a capital of 10 million RMB, this new high-tech enterprise is poised to become a key player in the humanoid robotics market.
The company is a strategic joint venture born from a partnership between two prominent forces in the robotics industry: Lingxin Qiaoshou (灵心巧手), also known as Linkerbot, a pioneer in dexterous robotic hands, and Weiyi Technology (苇熠科技), also known as Waybot, an expert in full-stack robot design, including arms, joint modules and software.
Linkerbot is a global leader and a prominent unicorn in the robotic dexterous hand industry. Founded in 2023, the Beijing-based firm captured over 80% of the global market share for high-degree-of-freedom (DoF) robotic hands.
The company is renowned for its flagship Linker Hand series, which spans from 6 to 42 degrees of freedom (surpassing human dexterity). Their products use advanced linkage, direct-drive, and tendon-driven mechanisms. Notably, their lightweight Linker Hand O6 weighs just 370 grams but can lift a massive 50 kg load.
Beyond hardware, Linkerbot developed LinkerSkillNet, the world's largest real-world dataset for dexterous manipulation, and the Linker Genesis AI model to allow verbal command controls over robotic movements.
Waybot is a high-tech robotic components infrastructure provider founded in 2024 by an elite team originating from Tsinghua University. The company specializes in the R&D, design, and manufacturing of the core moving parts that power humanoid and intelligent robots.
Waybot focus heavily on high-precision joint modules, frameless motors, servo drives, and force-controlled dual-arm systems. Their components are celebrated for being highly integrated, achieving large torque outputs, and remaining highly cost-effective.
Supported by prominent venture capitals, Waybot is establishing a massive national production headquarters capable of producing 100,000 sets of robot joint modules annually, aiming to define the industrial standard for robot powertrains.
The birth of Lingyi Xinchuang addresses one of the most critical hardware bottlenecks in the humanoid robotics industry: the seamless integration of robotic arms and hands. Traditionally, robotic arms and dexterous hands have been developed in isolation by different manufacturers, leading to compatibility, latency, and control challenges for embodied AI developers.
By integrating these technologies into a single hardware and software ecosystem, the company offers a plug-and-play solution that allows humanoid robots to perform highly delicate, force-sensitive tasks with unprecedented coordination.
Industry analysts note that the formation of Lingyi Xinchuang reflects a broader trend of consolidation and specialized partnership in the embodied intelligence sector. By optimizing the "arm-hand" synergy, the company is expected to lower development barriers and accelerate the commercial deployment of next-generation humanoid robots in both industrial settings and service industries.
